Langhorne Slim (2008)

This album is Langhorne Slims very first album and is the one of his that I probably have the most memories associated with. The songs on this album take me back to the days me and my brother would hang out in his room upstairs and listen to “Worries,” “Spinning Compass,” “Restless” and really every song on this album. They were all classics to us. Our parents loved them and so did we. My brother had a record player in his room so we would “steal” my dads copy of this album which happens to be the one listed here. We would take it up to his room and spin it so most of the songs on here make me think of my brother.
“Worries” was a song that taught me the first chords I learned on guitar. My dad was playing the song on his guitar and I wanted to learn so he taught me G, C, and D. Three chords and the truth. “Worries” is a go to campfire song for my family that we can break out and everybody will know the words (at least in my family), and one that me and my dad could play together. To this day I distinctly remember this being the first song I learned, and the one that jumpstarted my desire to keep playing guitar once I learned it. Since then I haven’t been able to stop.
