One Of These Nights

The Eagles (1975)

$49.99

As a kid my family and I were fortunate enough to take trips out west a lot. When I was around 14 I started to get really into the Eagles and listened to them all the time. One year we took a trip around Christmas to California to see my great grandma and visit other family. On the way there we stopped at Joshua Tree National park and backpacked for a couple of nights. I had downloaded this album on my Ipod before we left and it was one that I played a few too many times on the way there. When I listen to “One of These Nights” I can’t help but think about the desert and the Joshua trees that are everywhere in California. We also stopped in Winslow Arizona to see the famous corner they reference in “Take it Easy” which isn’t on this album but I think is worth mention because its still the Eagles and is another reason why I think of this time when I listen to them.

After Joshua Tree we made our way further West to Oxnard California and looking out the window I was still listening to the Eagles. When we went down to Los Angeles for a day I listened to “Hollywood Waltz” because I though it was fitting, and it made me romanticize the place. Hollywood has a certain feeling to it and listening to that song is what I think being in LA feels like. “One of These Nights” makes me think about family, California, Joshua Trees, and long road trips across the country.
