This album was present during a time in my life when change was imminent. I was about to graduate middle school and go off to high school. The kicker was that we were moving from Kansas to Colorado and that was an exciting but scary thought. I remember listening to two songs from this album a lot, “Changes”, for obvious reasons, and “Airplane.” Im not sure why airplane was one, I guess I just liked it. I think it was just an emotional song and I was an emotional teen so it resonated with me.

I do know that once we moved to Colorado I stopped listening to this album because it reminded me of my friends from Kansas and the place itself. It was hard to listen to because I just wanted to be back there with everyone but couldn’t. Now it has changed a bit because it doesn’t make me sad (or maybe it does a little bit but not in the same way), it makes me happy to think about the people that were in my life at that time and how thankful I was to have them. “Airplane” is still one of my favorite songs to this day and the lyrics are always changing for me in an interesting way.
