The Eagles (1979)

This album is one that like the others invokes feelings of nostalgia, and memories of childhood, vacations, and places, but a little bit of a different meaning to me now then it used to. Now I have more memories listening to this album with my Dad in his fabled listening rooms. We have moved a lot growing up but at all of our houses he has tried to have a room with his audio equipment in it to listen to vinyl. I always felt bad for him when we lived in a place that didn’t have the ability to set all of his stuff up. Our current house however does have the space, at least since me and my brother went off to college.
I don’t mind him taking over my old room though to make it into a listening room, I love it actually. Whenever I go home I get to listen to free concerts in my old room. Each summer I go home and we always listen to a lot of music but this album is one that we play on repeat. The audio quality on this pressing of “The Long Run” is so good that its almost addictive to listen to. “I Can’t Tell You Why” and “In the City” are a couple of my favorites from this record and makes me think of my Dad and Brother. I am realizing that a lot of the albums remind me of my family but I think thats what it has done is brought us all closer together as I think music does for everyone.
